This beautiful and functional gimbaled nautical compass will make a great gift for the "Sailor" in your family, and will occupy a favored place on his or her mantel or desk. The brass compass casing has a golden patina only found in real brass, and it's heavy brass presentation base offers a rich look and feel. The compass works well, although not recommended for navagational purposes. The diameter of the entire gimballed assembly (including compass) is 5". The diameter of the compass by itself is 2-5/8". Height including wood base is 5-1/2"
